NOCK ARCHITECTURE PTY LTD has undertaken multiple retail fuels projects on a national basis and is continuing to provide architectural services for master planning, concept design, planning documentation, construction documentation and construction services in this area. Our expertise covers a diversity of scope that includes upgrades to existing facilities, new standard service stations and flagship projects, often accommodating a combination of multiple retail tenancies, fast food drive throughs, and carwash facilities.

The above is an example of one of our key projects in this area and comprises the construction of a new canopy, associated bowsers and carwash facilities, and an upgrade to the existing retail building and tenancies.

The Design Challenge is an initiative of RMIT University’s Design Research Institute which brings together researchers and specialists across a broad range of educational and industry sectors to generate innovative transdisciplinary design ideas in response to an urgent and topical issue. For 2012 the Design Challenge focus was Ageing.

In Search of Eldertopia

Some 54 million Americans over the age of 55 are hoping to grow old in their own homes, and that population should increase by 50 percent over the next 30 years. Their hope is no easy thing to realise, because most American housing stock wasn’t built to grow (or shrink) with us as our needs grow.
